# Request a feature

> Ask for something Testorim does not do yet, vote on what others asked for, and see what is planned and shipped.

Testorim has one feature-request board shared by everyone who uses it. Ask for what you need, vote for requests you want too, and follow each one from **Under review** to **Shipped**. Votes are how we decide what to build next.

## Open the board

In the app, open **Help** in the header and choose **Request a feature**. The board is at [app.testorim.com/feature-requests](https://app.testorim.com/feature-requests). You can open it even before you choose a plan.

## Ask for a feature

    Give it a short title (what you want, in a sentence), pick a category, and add details if they help: what you are trying to do, and what you do today instead.

    While you type the title, requests that sound alike appear under it. If one of them is what you mean, choose **Vote for this instead**: one request with many votes moves faster than several with one each.

    Your request goes on the board with your vote already on it, and we read every one.

You can send up to five requests an hour. You can withdraw a request you made while it is still under review and nobody else has voted for it.

## Vote

Press the arrow beside a request to vote for it, and again to take the vote back. One vote per person per request.

## What the statuses mean

| Status           | Meaning                                                                          |
| ---------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Under review** | New. We have not decided yet.                                                    |
| **Planned**      | We intend to build it.                                                           |
| **In progress**  | Being built now.                                                                 |
| **Shipped**      | Available in Testorim.                                                           |
| **Not planned**  | We will not build it, usually with a note saying why.                            |
| **Duplicate**    | Merged into another request that asks for the same thing; the votes moved there. |

A request can carry a short note from us explaining a decision or what to expect.

## Updates by email

When a request moves to **Planned**, **In progress** or **Shipped**, everyone who asked for it or voted for it gets one email saying so, with our note and a link back to the request.

## Privacy

The board never shows who asked for or voted for a request. Your own requests are marked **You**; everyone else's say **A Testorim user**. No names, email addresses or workspace names appear on the board.
